One of the County’s most significant projects was the renovation of the historic Audrain County Courthouse in downtown Mexico, Missouri. As the centerpiece of County government and a defining architectural landmark, the courthouse renovation served as a catalyst for downtown revitalization. Cochran worked closely with the project team to ensure all site improvements complemented the historic character of the facility, while carefully restoring the surrounding memorials, including the Lady of Liberty monument, the Audrain County Veterans Memorials, and the Exercise Tiger Memorial, preserving their significance for future generations.
Cochran also provided surveying and civil engineering services for the $5.9 million expansion of the Audrain County Jail. The project enhanced public safety and operational efficiency through the addition of new housing dayrooms, expanded inmate capacity, an enlarged sally port capable of accommodating emergency vehicles, renovated booking and intake facilities, and significant site and utility improvements. Our team completed a comprehensive topographic survey and designed the parking, roadway, utility infrastructure, and site improvements needed to support the expanded facility, including the replacement of an existing gravel lot with modern paved parking.
