Client – City of Union

The City of Union received a master plan by another design team which came in 3 million dollars over budget. Faced with the thought of not moving forward, the City of Union turned to the Cochran team to evaluate and create a revised approach and master plan design.

This 43-acre park was completed in multiple phases. Phase One consisted of excavation and mass grading for 2 soccer fields, 1 football field, 5 baseball/softball fields, 2 ponds, and various support infrastructure. Cochran provided value engineering savings of approximately $600,000 on the Mass Grading/Master Plan which was completed in July 2013. Stormwater conveyance and management, roadway and parking lot design and layout, construction administration and inspection were also included within Cochran’s scope of services.

The park will be a full-service facility with athletic fields, concession stands, bleachers, restrooms, sprinkler park, walking trails, pavilions, playgrounds, fishing lakes, and assessable docks.
