Cochran performed the surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, and construction engineering and inspection services for this new roundabout in the City of Jackson at the intersection of East Main Street and Shawnee Boulevard.  The project included: storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water main, guard rail, temporary traffic control, removal of improvements, class A excavation, new 10” thick concrete pavement, concrete block retaining wall, signage, and pavement striping.

Cochran performed the TAP application, surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, and construction inspection services for this federally funded TAP pedestrian bridge over Hwy 100 in the City of New Haven. The project included embankment in place, Class 1 excavation, Class B concrete substructure with colored form liner, prefabricated pedestrian bow truss bridge, pedestrian safety rail, low voltage LED handrail lighting, earthwork, storm sewer, concrete box culvert, curb and gutter, sidewalk, traffic control, and restoration. Since this project was federally funded, all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.

Bend Road Bridge Replacement

Cochran performed the surveying, civil design, bidding, construction administration, daily inspection, and materials testing services for this federal aid bridge realignment and replacement over the Meramec River in Pacific, Missouri.   The Bend Bridge replacement project included the removal of the historic 422′ long “one lane” Bend Road Bridge (Hwy N), which was originally built in 1916.

The new bridge design consists of a 468’ long, 3-span continuous steel plate girder structure.  Since this project was federally funded, all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.

Cochran performed the application, surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, and construction inspection services for this federally funded STP road rehabilitation project on Business 21 in the City of Hillsboro.  The scope of the project consisted of the conversion of the existing two-lane roadway section into a three-lane section with a two-way-left-turn lane.  The project included: removal of improvements, linear grading, pavement widening, 3,500 lf of concrete vertical curb, 16,000 sf of concrete sidewalk, concrete driveway approaches, 2,000 tons of asphalt pavement, paving fabric, pavement milling, decorative street lights, pedestrian signals and push buttons, 2,100 lf of storm sewer, tree grates, street trees, signage, and pavement striping.  Since this project was federally funded, all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.

The City of De Soto in Jefferson County is located approximately 45 miles south of St. Louis, Missouri.  Cochran has been a partner with the City since 2004 and has assisted in many types of projects such as transportation, water resource, and site/civil projects.

The Westlink Industrial Drive Bridge replacement project is located near a manufacturing company in the Westlink Industrial Park.  The company hauls heavy transformers over the bridge weekly to a nearby railroad for shipping purposes. We were selected to design a structure with an increased load carry capacity, greater than the initial HS20 loading specification, so the company could continue shipping.  Addition structural calculations were necessary to size and reinforce the bridge members to handle the heavier truck loading requirements.

Cochran performed the surveying, geotechnical investigation, and analysis, design, bidding documents, construction administration, inspection, and materials testing for this federal aid bridge replacement, the bridge no. 44650031, along Westlink Industrial Drive in the City of Washington.  The project included clearing and grubbing; unclassified excavation; 2,889 cy of embankment in place; 2,201 sy of 11” thick non-reinforced concrete pavement; 8” diameter sanitary sewer main relocation; 10” water main relocation; guardrail; type 2 rock blanket; construction signage; 1,275’ of structural steel piles; pile point reinforcement; 798 sy of slab on concrete I-Girder; 69 ft prestressed concrete I-Girders; seeding; and pavement striping.  This project was federally funded and all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.

Cochran performed the surveying, design, and bidding documents for this federal aid bridge replacement, the bridge no. 18600201 (F-148), on Shotwell Road in Franklin County.  The project included clearing, grubbing and stripping; excavation and embankment in place; guardrail, 2,155 sy of bituminous pavement; type 2 rock blanket; construction signage; pre-bore for piling; 226 sy of slab on concrete I-Girder; 74 ft prestressed concrete I-Girders; seeding, mulching and fertilizing; and pavement striping.  This project was federally funded and all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.  Cochran performed the construction administration and inspection services for the County.

Cochran performed the surveying, geotechnical study, hydraulic analysis, engineering design, and special construction inspection/administration for this federal aid bridge replacement; bridge no. 05300111, on Gist Road in the City of Bridgeton.  The project included a single span structure (82’) that utilizes the more efficient NU 35 girders.  The scope of the project included clearing and grubbing, removal of improvements, excavation, embankment in place, asphalt pavement, removal of the bridge, type 2 rock blanket, slab on concrete girders, open concrete barrier curb, pre-stressed concrete girders, reinforcing steel, construction signs, and restoration.  Since this project was federally funded, all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.  Cochran performed special inspection services in collaboration with City staff.

Cochran performed the surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, construction administration and inspection for the new Bonne Terre Railway Memorial Bridge and Riverview Drive (concrete road) in the City of Herculaneum.  The project included 23 acres of clearing and grubbing; 5,000 cy of unclassified excavation; 193,000 cy of fill roadway embankment; 9,700 sy concrete pavement; a 343’ long bridge with pre-stressed concrete bulb-tee girders and corral curb; street lights; seed and straw; and pavement striping.  Since this project was federally funded, all construction documents were required to meet standards for project delivery as outlined in MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) manual.
