Dielman Road Improvement
Dielman Road in Olivette needed improvements to address deteriorating pavement, narrow travel lanes, drainage concerns, and pedestrian facilities that did not meet current ADA standards. Roadside ditches and an aging culvert along the existing corridor also limited opportunities to improve pedestrian safety and roadway drainage. To support the project, Cochran provided federal aid application assistance, surveying, engineering design, bidding document preparation, and construction inspection services.

The project included pavement widening, linear grading, milling, pavement repairs, asphalt resurfacing, and pavement striping to improve the roadway and extend its service life. The existing roadside ditches were replaced with a closed storm sewer system, improving drainage and reducing impacts to adjacent properties. The project also included concrete sidewalks, ADA-compliant ramps, concrete curb and gutter, and related accessibility improvements to provide a more continuous pedestrian connection along the corridor.
Because the project was federally funded through the Surface Transportation Program (STP), Cochran prepared the construction documents in accordance with MoDOT Local Public Agency requirements. Cochran also coordinated bidding and provided construction inspection services throughout the project.
Completed in 2020, the improvements addressed long-standing roadway, drainage, and pedestrian infrastructure needs along Dielman Road while providing a more accessible and functional corridor for the community.
