De Soto Main Street Improvements
Cochran partnered with the City of De Soto to revitalize its historic Main Street through a federally funded streetscape improvement project that enhanced accessibility, strengthened infrastructure, and created a more welcoming downtown environment. As a trusted engineering partner to the City since 2004, Cochran helped transform this key corridor into a safer and more attractive destination for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Providing comprehensive project delivery, Cochran assisted with federal funding applications and delivered surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, and construction inspection services in accordance with MoDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) requirements. The project included extensive streetscape enhancements such as new ADA-compliant sidewalks and curb ramps, concrete curb and gutter, upgraded driveway approaches, storm sewer improvements, landscaping, and other infrastructure upgrades that improved both functionality and appearance.
By integrating accessibility, stormwater management, and streetscape enhancements into a cohesive design, Cochran helped create a downtown corridor that better serves the community while supporting future economic development and revitalization efforts. The improvements provide safer pedestrian access, modernized infrastructure, and an inviting streetscape that reflects the City’s commitment to preserving and enhancing its historic downtown.
