East Osage and West Osage Street Improvements

Cochran partnered with the City of Pacific to transform East and West Osage Street (Historic Route 66) into safer, more accessible, and more attractive transportation corridors through a series of federally funded roadway improvement projects. These comprehensive streetscape enhancements modernized aging infrastructure while preserving one of the community’s most recognizable corridors and creating a more welcoming environment for residents, businesses, and visitors.

Providing end-to-end project delivery, Cochran assisted the City with federal funding applications and delivered surveying, engineering design, bidding documents, and construction inspection services in accordance with MoDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) requirements. The coordinated improvements included roadway widening, storm sewer installation, elimination of roadside ditches, ADA-compliant curb ramps, more than 40,000 square feet of new sidewalks, concrete curbs and driveway approaches, retaining walls, barrier walls, traffic signal improvements, decorative street lighting, street trees, landscaping, sodding, and pavement striping.

By integrating transportation, drainage, pedestrian accessibility, and streetscape enhancements into a unified corridor improvement program, Cochran helped create a safer and more functional roadway while enhancing the character and economic vitality of Pacific’s Historic Route 66 corridor. The completed projects provide improved mobility for motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists while creating an inviting streetscape that supports downtown revitalization and long-term community growth.
