Bouquet Road Bridge
Cochran worked with the City of Wildwood to replace the existing Bouquet Road Bridge over Tavern Creek with a new bridge designed for long-term performance and improved durability. The project replaced Bridge No. 4602053 and included the associated roadway and approach improvements needed to complete the crossing. Cochran applied for federal funding to help support the project, securing funding that covered 80% of the total project cost.
Cochran provided land surveying, bridge design, roadway design, and preparation of bidding documents for the federally funded project. The new 63-foot PPNUG bridge uses NU35 prestressed concrete girders supported on pile cap end bents, with a reinforced concrete deck. Architectural form liners and concrete staining were incorporated to complement the surrounding area while providing a finished appearance consistent with the community.
Additional improvements included removal of the existing bridge, approach roadway reconstruction, asphalt pavement, earthwork and embankment, reinforcing steel, rock blanket for erosion and scour protection, traffic control and site restoration. Cochran coordinated the structural and roadway design and prepared construction documents in accordance with MoDOT’s Local Public Agency (LPA) requirements.
