Shotwell Road Bridge Replacement – STP-6203(601)
Cochran partnered with Franklin County to replace the Shotwell Road Bridge, improving safety, reliability, and long-term performance for a vital rural transportation route. Funded through the Federal Surface Transportation Program (STP), the project modernized aging infrastructure while ensuring continued connectivity for residents, emergency services, agricultural operations, and local businesses.

Cochran provided comprehensive project services, including surveying, bridge and roadway design, preparation of bidding documents, construction administration, and construction inspection. Designed in accordance with MoDOT Local Public Agency (LPA) requirements, the project included the replacement of Bridge No. 18600201 (F-148) with a new prestressed concrete I-girder structure, along with roadway reconstruction, earthwork, guardrail installation, erosion protection, pavement improvements, and new pavement striping.
Throughout the project, Cochran coordinated every phase of design and construction to deliver a durable bridge capable of serving the County’s transportation needs for decades to come. By combining sound engineering practices with careful project management and federal funding expertise, the project was completed to modern safety standards while maximizing the value of the County’s infrastructure investment.
