Aeration System Upgrades

Cochran partnered with the City to improve the performance, efficiency, and operational control of its 1.1 MGD wastewater treatment facility through strategic aeration system upgrades. The project was designed to enhance treatment effectiveness while reducing energy consumption and providing operators with greater control over the biological treatment process.

The improvements included the installation of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and dissolved oxygen monitoring equipment that allow the aeration system to automatically adjust operating speeds based on real-time treatment demands. By maintaining optimal dissolved oxygen levels throughout the treatment process, the upgraded system improves treatment efficiency, reduces energy costs, and enhances overall plant performance.

Cochran provided comprehensive project services, including funding assistance, energy analysis, engineering design, permitting, construction administration, and construction inspection. Our team worked closely with plant staff to develop a solution that balanced operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and long-term cost savings.
